COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE IN SMALL ANIMAL HEALTHCARE SINCE 1950

Early detection, recognition, and timely intervention of medical conditions are the key to a long, healthy life. We recommend comprehensive physical exams for your pet at least once a year.
For new kittens and puppies, vaccinations should begin at 8-10 weeks of age. Although we recommend waiting 6 months before spaying or neutering your pet, an early spay/neuter option is available for pets at least 9 weeks of age.
In additon to the services listed above, we recommend flea and tick prevention for outdoor animals.
Your pet's dental health is an important part of his or her general health, yet dental care is one of the most commonly overlooked areas of pet health care.
Sixty percent of pets have some type of dental disease. If left untreated, it can lead to more serious health problems including heart, lung and kidney disease, which makes it all the more important that you provide your pets with proper dental care from the start.
Whether it is a routine spay / neuter or a complicated orthopedic surgery, you can rest assured your pet is in good hands at Gage Animal Hospital.
Dr. Shipman and our technicians work hard to make sure every aspect of our anesthetic, surgical care and post-surgical pain management is the best available today in veterinary medicine.
Our in-house laboratory gives us instant access to important information regarding your pet's condition. In addition, we have access to any test your pet may need through our network of referral laboratories.

We offer boarding and basic grooming services for your pet in a safe, clean environment. We require all animals boarding with us to be current on their Distemper, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. If you are not a regular client of Gage Animal Hospital, please provide us with your pet's vaccination records when your pet is dropped off. If your pet needs to be updated on his or her vaccinations, we will be happy to do that for you.
If your pet is on a special diet, please provide us with enough food for his or her stay. Feel free to bring along any special toys, blankets, etc. to make your pet feel more comfortable while you're away.
Providing the right nutrition is the single most important thing people can do for their pet's health on a daily basis. The proper diet can help manage a pet's development and specific needs including conditions such as a sensitive stomach, skin and/or coat issues, poor dental health, and more.
